Easy Customs Update Autumn 2021

 

September’s announcement by the UK to delay the imposition of checks and controls on goods entering the UK has been described by the UK government as a “pragmatic” new timetable

A summary of the timetable is set out below:

  • Full customs declarations in and out of the UK will be required from 1st January 2022
  • The requirement of pre-notification of SPS goods (which was due on 1st October 2021) is now delayed to 1 January 2022
  • Export health certificate requirements (for agri-food of animal origin) won’t come into effect until 1st July 2022. (Previously 1st October 2021 was the deadline)
  • Phytosanitary certificates and physical checks on SPS goods at UK Border Control Posts (which was due on 1st January 2022) is now delayed to 1st July 2022
  • Safety and security declarations on imports (which was due on 1st January 2022) is now delayed to 1st July 2022

 

Please remember that supplementary declarations in relation to 2021 goods movements are still due as of now
